If you're experiencing issues with your pedal, follow the steps below to help isolate and resolve the problem:
1. Isolate Your Pedal
- Important: Some pedals and effects units don’t play well together. To rule out potential interference or compatibility issues, always test your pedal individually without other pedals connected in the signal chain.
2. Check Your Power Supply
- Our pedals require a 9V center-negative DC adapter.
- If you hear excessive noise (hissing, oscillation, or hum):
- Check that you're using the correct power supply. We recommend high-quality, isolated pedal power supplies like:
- Pedal Power 2+
- 1 Spot Pro
- Avoid using power supplies like:
- Line 6 power supplies
- AC power adapters
- 18V supplies
- 1-Spot wall warts or daisy chain power supplies, as they can introduce noise and other issues.
Using a high-quality isolated power supply will help prevent unwanted noise and ensure optimal performance.
3. Check the Signal Flow
- If you have no signal:
- Verify that your cable orientation is correct:
- Guitar input: Top-right jack
- Amp output: Top-left jack (when facing the pedal)
- Test your cables: If the signal still isn't coming through, test each cable individually:
- Plug your guitar directly into your amplifier using the same cables to confirm they’re functioning properly.
- Cable testers are helpful for verifying cable integrity.
4. Knob Crackling or Noise
- If you notice crackling or noise when adjusting a knob, it’s likely due to static electricity or dust buildup in the potentiometer.
- Try this: Turn the affected knob through its full rotation several times to see if the issue clears up. This often resolves minor static or dust-related problems.

At OC Pedal Co., we stand by the quality and craftsmanship of our pedals. All of our pedals come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty (for as long as we are in business) covering any defects in materials or workmanship that affect the function or operation of the pedal. This warranty does not cover cosmetic wear or damage caused by misuse, neglect, or accidents. It does not cover broken knobs, pots, or jacks. We build our pedals to last, but they’re not designed to withstand being thrown off a building.
To request a warranty repair or replacement, you must provide the original receipt or proof of purchase. Please note that the warranty is non-transferable and is void if the product is resold. Additionally, any modification or attempt to repair the pedal by anyone other than the manufacturer will void the warranty.
If your pedal experiences a warranty issue, please be aware that you are responsible for all shipping costs associated with warranty repairs or replacements. For issues outside of the warranty, we’ll be happy to help with repairs at a reasonable cost.
